Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR was developed in 1987 by Francine Shapiro as psychological therapy that has been shown to provide some very positive results.
This therapy is promoted and supported by The World Health Organization, The Department of Veteran Affairs, The American Psychiatric Association, and many more.
The main effect of EMDR is to heal a neurological issue. Much like a broken bone, it needs to be addressed and healed. This therapy is to help the neurological and biological capacity of processing. Once the neurological issues have started to heal, the symptoms will lessen or in some cases be eliminated.
